Almost a year....

Yeah, It's been almost a year since I wrote that we will be writing more. Oops. Sorry. Funny how life gets in the way sometimes.
So, it's March 13th. A time when you would think it would start being more springy. However, we live in Minnesota and it doesn't always go that way, but soon enough (this next week even) it's going to get warn, thawed and MESSY. The farm drive will be an inch or more of mud and the smell of the manure that was being spread all winter is really going to get potent. :) That's why we try and give our neighbors a little something at Christmas-time...well, for that and a lot of other reasons. Our neighbors are pretty neat people out here. A lot had probably happened in the last year, but nothing I can specifically think of now. I'll post some photos though...mostly from Lincoln's phone. (beware...there's kind of a gross one...)

A 2-headed calf? Yep.

Do you think we can drink out of the actual water bin? No. :)

Who else is there, really?

Cow. Oh, you could probably figure that one out.

This is the view of the back of our dairy farm. Pretty view. I took this on a back road that I was pretty much forced to drive on this past summer because of....well, see for yourself in the next photos.

Yeah, road construction. Our road was torn up and widened last summer. It was left as gravel all winter which is not helping the mess at all. They plan to tar it at some point this summer...hopefully sooner than later, but it's full of potholes so, who knows. I just don't wash our car....it saves time and /or money.

This is taken from our driveway, diagonal from the farm. they are all parked in our field

This is looking to the east toward White Rock. It made for an interesting summer. They should just come and tar our driveway for all the inconvenience and trouble. ;)

Remember Us?

We haven't posted anything in...well, quite a while. Oops. We will start taking more pictures and start keeping up on this thing. :) Happy Easter!

We See Red

It's been a little bit since this blog has been posted on. We are going to try and work on that...it's almost time to start packing the corn in as harvest season is closing in on us.

The picture below, I thought, was kind of humorous. All 4 of the guys have Ford Pick-ups and all 4 of them are red. Shown here is Clinton's, Lincoln's and Neal's. Grant rides in with Neal so his is missing from the photo.

That's all for now. We'll try and keep this more up-to-date. Life has a funny way of getting in the way of blogging. :)

Driving Truck

Long story but there was a beard growing contest at our church and when it came time to shave off the beard Clinton thought it would be funny to try to make him look like a grungy semi truck driver. So here he is.
This is the dairys new semi. They bought it just a few months back a long with an end dump. Hauling their own commodities is a new thing for the dairy and Clinton loves the drive.

Come 'n' Knock on our Door...

We recieved a call letting us know we had someone at door :).... Somehow and for some reason our front steps looked like a good place to set up for a rest. This little bull calf, no more than a week old wondered into our yard and walked up our steps and laid down. I thought it was funny so I took a picture. I bet not one city person gets such thrills at this. :) He is pretty cute too bad we don't keep the boys.

It's starting to get nice out.....

....and then the snow hits. However, last Friday, before our last snow storm (hopefully) of this season, Grant and Luke got some B-ball in after breakfast.

They work hard...they really do. :)

Another Birthday at the Farm

3-21-08

Grant celebrated his birthday last Friday, 3-14. He got a candle in his pancakes that morning...also lit by a torch - you know, White Rock Dairy style. (notice the butter warmer on the table...)

Birthdays At The Farm...

The farm's 'boss' turned another year older on March 6th so we celebrated at lunch that day instead of getting together that evening because of some scheduling 'conflicts' (Neal had a church council meeting)

Happy Birthday, Chris!

1 Dad, 1 Mom, 3 Sons, 3 Wives and 4 Grand-daughters....WOW! (Luke was at school)
4 Dudley's pizza's, 1 Home-made cake and presents all around the office conference table = a farm birthday.

This is how we light candles out here.....nothing better than a torch. We only lit one candle...we didn't want to wear out the torch.

Opening her brand new roasting pan! A very much needed kitchen item. Good thinkin' Bonnie!

Ashlyn helping grandma open her new set of dishes...another much needed item to go in her new kitchen!

Lunch Break

We are a family dairy that's for sure. During a hard days work, they come in to eat breakfast and lunch. Here is a picture of two brothers and their two daughters... Just some quality bonding time with the little ones in between work. (Clinton and Sophie are on the left and Grant and Josie are on the right.)

On A Thursday...

Thursdays...garbage & recycling days

This is the "perfectly spreadable" butter in the butter warmer from Le Sueur Cheese.

We've stepped up security at White Rock Dairy....

Yes...even cows need to eat.

First 'Official' Post

Okay, so since we haven't done anything with this yet, I figured I would post a few photos. These photos were actually taken in Sept. 2006 by Ag Partners. We made it in their 2007 Calendar. We were their month of September.

The start of something....different!

Yeah...don't ask. This is the start of a blog for White Rock Dairy...the dairy farm we all work on. Have fun reading! (I think)
